a slice

By Andrea in a life unexamined, a slice, catch up

We kept it very simple this weekend. Rain threatened at every turn, so we only ventured a small trip to the grocery store and one to our garden. We’re on our third round of lettuce and kale and have managed to commit to making almost every meal this summer bio-regional, and feel like every bite is a triumph. July seems to be slipping through our fingers, and I’m busily stocking as much as I can of it away in cans and jars as we look forward to the last blistering month of August. How are you cupcakes? How is your summer?

Oh goodness…I love the gardening. I dream about putting in trellises and beans, strawberries and blueberries, kohlrabi and kale. I can’t wait for next year! (and for tonight, when I get to eat the first of my tomato crop. Wow).

  2. Hmmmm that first picture looks so good. I want to grow peas so badly. I used to love eating them out of my grandma’s garden when I was a kid.

Oh! Peas straight from the pod, that’s so brilliant :)
